Greeted with very picturesque turquiose blue water, Trevisio's Cable 7 wake park in northern Italy was a perfect half-way stop for our recent trip down to Tuscany. With water so inviting you can almost iagine you're ona tropical island in Fiji, but instead of relaxing arounf the pool or beachside, you're able to rir it up wakeboard style.

Capturing amazing, inspiring and captivating portraits is never en 'easy' task. There are so many factors that come in to play, like, camera settings for the perfect exposure, lighting, if you have some and trying to get the perfect direction, softness and power and a great location that will help draw viwers to the image. All of this without even considering your subject.

I've taken countless images of people and I think to myself, wow that's really great! The lighting is good, the background is nicely exposed, the model looks great, only to show them and they say, 'oh, my mouth looks bad' or some other reason that they dare not say. Everyone has something about themselves that don't like so it's only natural that as soon as they see a picture of themselve they unintentioanlly but inevitibly look straight at this point. A point that nine times out of 10 no-one else is looking at.

The key to a great Portrait!
How do you think famous models are able to see and post pictures of themselves multiple times per day?
It's because they are able to look past these so-called 'faults' and view the image as a pice of photogrpahic art.
As the subject yourself this is ideally what you must try and do. Look at the image as if it were somebody else. Look at the image for the beauty that the image itself is, not your faults that only you can see.
now, by no means is this easy, I struggle with this myself, however, if you can, you'll see what everyone else can see, and that's a beautiful image of which you just happen to be the subject.
Food for thought...
